Myself

I started playing the piano at the age of 6. I learned to play by ear, because that was a lot easier than trying to imagine what the little black dots meant. Quit piano and picked up the guitar at 14 and played by ear for the first 2 years. Eventually picked up a guitar book and learned to read music. Started composing soon after that. All of the first ones had very long names but very few notes. I studied music for a while and went to do other things for almost 20 years. Met Maria Schneider in 2002 and talked to her for a while. Somehow my thinking was changed after that discussion. Well, if somebody like Maria Schneider is such a fantastic composer and a truly wonderful person, what if I tried to do the same (I know you thought I’d try to be just as wonderful)? Soon I’d put all my time and effort into composing (well, I had to earn some money, too) and made a demo CD in 2005 (think I’m going to burn those CDs). At the end of 2006 I started composing ”Good Ace Bad Ace”. The name reflects life, we all have our good and bad days. Think about poker. You might have a pair of aces, but are you sure you’ll win?

Currently, I am composing some new material. At this stage I don’t know what it will be. Maybe a million-seller CD? Have to hire a lady singer…
